Tikvah Lunch Theater
Each year, the campers in Tikvah and Machon create their own play for the Tikvah Lunch Theatre. This year's theme was "Siblings in the Bible" and the campers had a lot of fun studying the original texts and then writing their own scenes based on the texts. The audience has a lot of fun as well. They are served lunch on the way into the performance. It's a great opportunity for the campers in Tikvah to show camp what they can do.
Rebecca Singer (Drama Staff): The campers were amazing today in the Tikvah Lunch Theatre. It's a show that they write completely by themselves, based on stories in the Torah. The theme this year was "Siblings in the Bible." We gave them four stories-Nadav and Avihu, Moses, Miriam and Aaron, Jacob and Esau, and Rachel and Leah. They hit the ground running with the stories. They wrote great scripts, they were funny, they were witty, they performed well. It's really something that they can call their own. It's really great to watch and it was really wonderful to direct. It was a wonderful experience.
Jacob Goldstein (Drama Staff): I thought the show was wonderful. The campers all worked really hard and diligently and I think their final product was really nice. It was a great opportunity for them to perform for their peers. It was a lot of fun for them and for the audience as well.
Yael Buechler (Rosh Tikvah): The campers were unbelievable, they were phenomenal. I'm so proud of them. They worked so hard on this play and I really got to see them shine today. I'm really looking forward to spending this Shabbat together and celebrating with them.
Josh E. (Tikvah): I felt I did really good today. Our show was about siblings and how siblings acted. We made the show by reading the stories and then coming up with ideas. The show went really well. I'm really happy about it.
Jillian B. (Tikvah): The show went very well. All the campers did really good. I was in the group with Moses, Miriam, and Aaron. I was Miriam and I hurt my ankle because I did a bad thing-I was gossiping about Moses. So, I had so sit out of the basketball team. But after seven days, I got to be on the team again.
Elana G. (Machon): The show went really well. We all worked really hard on putting it all together.
