Mid - March Update

There's been a lot progress over the last few weeks. Here's the latest update:

-The floors are being poured in the dining halls and the kitchen. You can see on the photos that the floors in the kitchen will be color-coded , to make it easy to differentiate between milk (blue) and meat (red). The dining hall floors will be a stained concrete, which you can see being applied in this week's photos.

-There are now lights in the kitchen and the dining rooms. The ceiling fans are up in the kitchen, and will be installed soon in the dining halls. There will be a ventilation system in the entire building designed to keep it as cool as possible on the warmer days of the summer.

-All of the kitchen equipment is scheduled to be installed starting on March 23. The coolers and hoods above the cooking lines were installed in January, and the rest of the equipment will be placed next week.

-Work has commenced once again outside (even though it is in the 20's and 30's most days!). The pavers on the porch around the building are being laid in, and the stone on the lower third of the building will start going on next week. By mid-April, the landscaping will begin in earnest (providing that there is no more snow on the ground).

The building is on schedule for completion in the beginning of May, and will be ready for our first meals of the summer in June!
