Chadar Ochel Project - Getting Ready for the Walls
It was another exciting visit to camp yesterday! Much work has been completed in the last two weeks:
-The Chadar Ochel foundation walls were completed and have been backfilled.
-The plumbing that will be under the floor of the kitchen and bathrooms is nearly finished. This includes all of the floor drains around the kitchen equipment, and water pipes to sinks and toilets. Yes, the new Chadar Ochel will have public restrooms for use throughout the day - no more running to the Bet Am or Sifriyah (Library) during the meal! Yesterday during our visit to camp, we verified the locations of each of these drains and pipes to ensure that they are in the correct location (it's not easy to move them after pouring the concrete!)
-The first concrete floor (where the Chadar Ochel "Katan" used to be) was poured yesterday. The concrete company will continue pouring floors through this week and into the beginning of next week.
Next Wednesday, the pre-fabricated shell of the building will arrive at camp and the walls will begin going up! Pictures will be posted as they are sent from Conover.
