Chadar Ochel Project - Preparing the Foundation

Over the past two weeks, a great deal of progress has been made in camp on the Chadar Ochel. The foundation walls have been poured - you can start to see the outline of the new building in today's pictures. This will allow the mason to begin the foundation shortly.

The new Chadar Ochel will have a system to supress fire which includes sprinklers in each dining hall and throughout the kitchen. The water will be stored in a concrete reservoir located below the first level under the Chadar Ochel. The reservoir has been built and will be connected into the building over the next few weeks.

Additionally, there are several other projects going on in camp right now:

1. Construction on a new double boys cabin will begin soon. The cabin location can be seen in the photos.

2. We are expanding Cabins 1 and 2 (the Garinim/Halutzim boys cabins) by adding additional sleeping quarters. Our year-round maintenance staff members are working on the project this fall.
