Visitors' Days and Garinim Departure

The summer is going by so quickly!  It's hard to believe the first half of the summer is already over.  It seems like we just got here yesterday, but suddenly it was already Visitors' Weekend.  On Sunday and Monday, camp's gates opened to welcome hundreds of visitors.  There were lots of hugs and tears on the tennis and basketball courts as campers greeted their loved ones and welcomed them into their summer home.  The kikar was busy with activity as the Ramah band played and families set up chairs and blankets.  The weather even cooperated for us and though it was cloudy most of the day Sunday, it only rained for a few minutes here and there, and then Monday was beautiful.  Visitors had the opportunity to see many of the different activities Ramah has to offer while spending time with their campers and simply enjoying two wonderful days at camp.

While the Visitors were here, another group was getting ready to say goodbye for the summer.  We will miss everyone from Garinim, but we know they are bringing home many wonderful memories!

Daniel S. (Garinim):  My favorite part of the summer was The Blob.  It's an activity in the water where you sit on one part and then someone jumps on another part and then you fly up into the water.  It's a lot of fun.  I also liked Yom Sport and kayaking.  Yom Sport was fun because you got to be on teams with campers from the other eidot and then got to do a lot of fun sports like dodgeball, soccer and gaga.

Joshua G. (Garinim):  My favorite part of the summer was The Blob.  You can go really high in the air and it's fun.

Noah E. (Garinim):  My favorite part of the summer was kayaking.  I also like The Blob and snack.

Max G. (Garinim):  My favorite part of the summer was meeting new friends and trying new things like Omanut and Nagarut and radio.

Jacob L. (Garinim):  I really liked Omanut.  It was really fun.

Alexander R. (Garinim):  My favorite part of the summer was going on The Blob. 

Seth W. (Garinim):  My favorite thing this summer was playing sports.  My favorite was basketball.

Zack B. (Garinim):  My favorite thing this summer was sports and free time.  I like to play basketball.

Ethan F. (Garinim):  My favorite thing about camp is playing sports and meeting new friends.

Ethan W. (Garinim):  My favorite thing about camp was boating and making new friends.  Everything was great.  It's hard to decide what was the best.

Lorne M. (Garinim):  My favorite thing about camp is that we're all Jewish and we're all a big community.

 Adi M. (Garinim):  My favorite part of camp is the Island Swim and the water sports.
