What's your favorite place in Camp Ramah?
Although many campers return year after year to see their camp friends and counselors, many are also deeply attached to the physical place itself. All agree that Camp Ramah is beautiful, from its green hills to its glistening lake to its shaded walkways. For many, different spots at camp are associated with wonderful camp memories. When asking different people around camp about their favorite camp spots, these memories and attachments were clearly evident. Here are some of Ramahniks' favorite spots in camp.
Molly (Bogrim camper): I love the Kikar! It is a vital part of camp because it brings together all aidot. Sometimes we all eat lunch or dinner together on the Kikar, and during Yom Sport (coming soon!) the day culminates on the Kikar as the camp unites to cheer on the different teams. We also play cabin games on the Kikar, and I especially like when the Nivonimers drum for everyone. The atmosphere is great, and hanging out with friends on the Kikar is one of my best memories here.
Noah (Shoafim camper): My favorite spot at camp is the tennis courts. I come here for my normal sports activities every other day, but often seek out other times to play. I have met some good friends on the tennis courts, because sometimes I play with people I didn't know before.
Ella (Shoafim camper): I like sitting in the middle of Lake Buckatabon in a kayak. Last summer, I took boating and I would often boat to the middle of the lake and sit here and think. When you look around, you have beautiful water on one side, camp on the other, and huge green trees in between. It is so peaceful out there, and I hope that I can boat out with some of my friends again during Perek Zion (free time) this summer.
Ariella (Garinim camper): I love art! I love making stuff. I've already made a Chai on a board for my family and I am going to paint it. I like art because I like being creative and making things to give to others that they will enjoy. Jacob (Nivonim camper): I have very fond memories of Machon point. This is the grassy area located next to the lake behind the Machon boys cabins. It is beautiful! I really enjoy being there on Shabbat and talking with friends.
