Nivonim Voices

Nivonim, the aidah for incoming eleventh graders, has had a full summer of learning and growth. Right now the boys are out on their three-day camping trip; some other recent highlights include the Nivo play, "Cabaret," and the Nivonim-planned Shabbat programming for the whole camp. Here, some Nivonimers share their thoughts about the summer.

Adam B.: Our play showed the amazing potential our aidah holds inside of itself. We put on a great production after a lot of hard work.

Allison R.: I really enjoyed the girls' camping trip because everyone bonded. It was a new setting, outside of camp, and we thrived hiking and making our own meals.

Aaron C.: The thing I like best about this aidah is its camaraderie. Everyone is basically friends with everyone else. We accomplish so much because of that dynamic.

Hallie D.: This summer, I felt that we contributed to the Eagle River community. For my service project, I worked at the Children's Museum and painted a desk, to be sold to someone in the community. We made a difference in people's lives.

Ron S.: When we went to Wausau, we saw a baseball game and played mini-golf. It was great bonding time for our aidah, having fun and hanging out.

Elli C.: Even though it's not restricted to Nivonim, seudah shlishit [Saturday night dinner] singing is my favorite part of the week. It's a great time to reflect on what we've accomplished and what we want to happen in the upcoming week as a community.

Joseph E.: I like being a dugma l'Machane Ramah [an example for Camp Ramah]. All the other campers look up to us because we are the oldest aidah.

Yaeli D.: It was really great working on the Nivo English play. We wrote the script ourselves, basing it on different instances of creation in Jewish history. The end result was fantastic!
