Machon, the aidah for incoming tenth graders, has had an eventful summer, including a Tiyul [trip] to Iowa, separate boy and girl Yetziot [outings] out of camp, and Leagot [sports league] with Nivo. Here, some Machon campers share their favorite parts of the summer.

Sophie C.: My favorite part of the summer was definitely the Iowa Tiyul. We saw a bunch of different communities and how they lived.

Matthew M.: I really like living on the Point [Machon boys living area]. We are so close to the lake - it's beautiful and peaceful.

Rena F.: The all-girls Yetzia was a lot of fun. It was a good bonding experience. We saw Harry Potter and played "catchphrase" leagot [games] in the park!

Nick B.: Yom Banim [Boys Day] united the boys, who are split in two cabins. We played volleyball, softball, and dodgeball, reflected on what we liked about each other, and then played a great game of American gladiator. It was fun!

Julie Ann O.: On Tisha B'Av, we had a Peulat Erev [evening activity] about forgiveness. There was a sheet and a projector, and we went behind the screen to apologize to people. Though we didn't say who we were apologizing to, we were able to apologize in public.

Mark M.: The guys are much close this year than the last. We hang out together in each other's cabins.

Shira G.: One time, the girls had an activity where we had a "rave" with highlighters. Everything was glow-in-the-dark, and we drew on each other's white t-shirts with highlighters. It was so cool!
