Full Season (Grades 7-11)

Campers entering grades 7 - 11 participate in a full 8-week session. Campers are grouped into seven age divisions called aidot. Each aidah functions as an independent unit with special, age-appropriate programs and activities. Programming within each aidah builds each year as campers mature, grow closer as a community and take on more responsibility over their summer activities. The aidot come together throughout the day and participate in camp-wide programs and events throughout the summer.

There are so many ways to have fun at camp from morning until night...sailing on Lake Buckatabon, playing night-time softball under the lights, going on campouts, performing in a Broadway play, creating cabin cheers, competing in sports events, making art projects, hanging out with friends... and so much more. These and other fun times create lasting memories that keep campers coming back to Ramah summer after summer.

For a taste of the camp experience, here's a description of the first day of the 2007 season as appeared on the Camp Ramah in Wisconsin blog:

After much anticipation, the campers have arrived! Yesterday afternoon, the buses rolled into the parking lots. As hundreds of smiling campers climbed off the buses, they were met with cheers and hugs of counselors, friends, and teachers. Each new bus was met with greater excitement than the last. Luggage was carried to and unpacked in the cabins, and campers congregated to play games with their cabins, catch up with old friends, and introduce themselves to new faces. Campers' excitement was particularly evident in the dining room over a hamburger and hotdog dinner, as each aidah cheered and presented their ru'ach (spirit). Here are campers' and counselors' first impressions of camp.

Arianna (camper entering 10th grade): When we got to camp, it felt great to be greeted by my best friends from previous summers. I have been counting down until this day for a very long time. Everyone has matured so much since we were together last as an aidah, and I can't wait to hear about everyone's first year of high school.

Lea (camper entering 11th grade): Camp has changed somewhat physically, but the great atmosphere is the same as I remember. I can't believe I am finally in Nivo! This year, we have special privileges and leadership roles, and it will be cool to see my aidah comes together and make an impact on the camp.

Brita (camper entering 5th grade): I am excited to be at camp. This is my first summer here, and I already really like my cabin. This morning's tefila (prayer service) was very fun too and I am excited to explore today.

Danny (camper entering 7th grade): Camp Ramah is great! This is my second year at camp, and I am happy to be back. I am looking forward to playing sports, especially the basketball game between Sollelim and Shoafim.

Abby (counselor in 7th grade division): Now that the campers have arrived, the camp feels full of energy! I can't wait to get into the regular camp routine. My campers are so bubbly and excited to make new friends. They are especially excited about their activities. Today, we are rotating through each activity and the campers will be introduced to art, drama, radio, Hebrew, swimming, camping, and more. Their enthusiasm is contagious!
