Meet Rosh Mercaz 2015 Jon Adam Ross!

image3Jon Adam Ross (most of you know him as JAR) will be returning to camp for his 17th summer on staff! He’ll be continuing his role as Rosh Mercaz, supporting our counselors as they plan fun, exciting, Jewish programs for our campers!

With so many years as a staff member, JAR is proud to say that he’s served in many different roles at camp. He says he has “done everything from Rosh Drama to Rosh Luggage on the first and last days of camp!” In addition to his many years on staff, JAR was also a camper for five summers and participated in Ramah Israel Seminar.

A graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, JAR grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. He has performed his one-man shows in over 90 cities around the globe. His newest endeavor is the ambitious inHEIRitance Project (www.inheiritance.org), which has JAR writing 5 solo plays in 5 cities over the next 3 years. Home from a recent run in ‘Relics’ at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, JAR is based in NYC where his stage credits include: a dog, a 2,000 year old bird, an elderly orthodox Jew, a horse, a British naval officer in 1700’s Jamaica, a goat, Jesus Christ, a lawyer, a hapless police chief, and a cyclops. JAR holds a BFA in Acting from NYU/Tisch and is a founding company member of Storahtelling and the Northwoods Ramah Theater Company.

One of JAR’s favorite things about camp is that it gives him the chance to play tennis with his best friend every day.

We look forward to seeing JAR on the kikar this summer—maybe he’ll even play banjo for us!
